The Partners Behind The Sen
Sustained Land was founded in 2006 and has developed more than 3,000 homes, according to the developer’s brochure. Its projects include Sky Everton, Casa Al Mare, One Meyer, Coastline Residences, 3 Cuscaden, Sturdee Residences, Tre Residences, The Poiz, Sea Horizon, Coastal Breeze Residences, Tivoli Grande and The Line.
Ho Lee Group grew between the 1970s and the 1990s from a single general plumbing business into a group of construction companies, brought together and incorporated in 1996. It has developed property with its partners, including Sky Everton, One Meyer, Sturdee Residences, OLA Executive Condominium, 3 Cuscaden and Coastline Residences, and was one of the major sponsors of Viva Industrial Trust when it listed on the Singapore Exchange in November 2013. Greatview Development’s projects include Sky Everton, Tre Residences and The Poiz Residences and Poiz Centre.

The Sen Design Team
AGA Architects designed The Sen around its sloping site and its neighbour, the Bukit Batok nature reserve. The arrival is announced by a pavilion clad in rosy amber and bronze, the hallmark of the development, and the blocks are set so that many balconies look over the central court and its pools.
EcoPlan Asia’s landscape draws on terraced rice fields and tropical hideaways: organic forms, tiered green spaces and lush planting, with water running through the grounds. KCL Consultants is the structural engineer, Elead Associates the mechanical and electrical engineer, and TPS Construction the main contractor.
The Name and Idea of The Sen
The developer explains the name as inspired by the greenery embracing the residence and by zen philosophy — calm, mindfulness and respite — and its emblem uses the familiar stones and rocks of a Japanese zen garden. The tagline, “A Life Centred”, runs through the plan, from the spa and wellness spaces to the meditation deck and yoga lawn on the roof.
